The Retreat can accommodate a wide variety of event and celebration requests. The Moraine, our signature event space, is purpose-built to host groups for everything from wedding receptions to corporate meetings. Our commercial kitchen and expert culinary team cater gatherings with exquisite cuisine, and our breathtaking wedding lawns and outdoor spaces offer stunning opportunities for photography and outdoor functions. We also have ample and convenient on-site parking.
Our luxury villas offer the highest standard of comfortable, elegance and privacy, for peaceful relaxation at the day’s end. Our location near Aoraki Mount Cook Village, Twizel and Tekapo means guests of larger gatherings can be accommodated nearby.
The Retreat offers easy access to the South Island’s major centres of Christchurch, Dunedin and Queenstown, reachable by just a few hours’ drive or a short helicopter flight to the private helipads on the estate.

The Moraine
The Moraine, our signature event space, was created to host elegant gatherings. Its high ceilings, delicate chandelier and large open fireplace create a warm and luxurious atmosphere.
Large doors open onto a picturesque veranda, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor flow and amplifying the spaciousness of The Moraine.
Its facilities include a commercial kitchen for our expert culinary team to cater events with exquisite cuisine. The Moraine is perfect for grand banquets for up to 100 seated guests, or more informal settings for larger groups.
Outdoor Locations
The Retreat features two large, grassy wedding lawns, one above our tennis court (the Lavender Lawn) and one overlooking Lake Pukaki below our Memorial Garden (the Lakeside Lawn).
Both lawns have views over Lake Pukaki towards Aoraki Mount Cook, and are lovely green spaces for an outdoor function.
We are able to set up tents and marquees at various locations on the estate for your outdoor celebration.


Corporate Events
Mt Cook Lakeside Retreat offers the perfect setting for your corporate event, with venues and facilities to comfortably host meetings, workshops, conferences, executive retreats and exhibitions.
On-site accommodation is available in our beautiful, private luxury villas. For larger gatherings, we are conveniently located near accommodation providers in Aoraki Mount Cook Village, Twizel and Lake Tekapo, where additional guests can stay.

Flexible Event Space
The Retreat’s meeting spaces can be configured to meet the needs of your event. From an executive meeting of 5, to a company conference for up to 500 people, or medium sized trade exhibition. Breakout spaces are available.
Facilities at The Moraine include a commercial kitchen for our expert culinary team to cater events with exquisite cuisine, overhead projection and free wireless internet.
The Moraine has a Pergola Marquee for additional delegate space, catering, breakout or exhibition.
Marquee spaces are also available on our two wedding lawns which have views of Lake Pukaki and Aoraki Mt Cook.
