Moraine Lodge, Saturday 15 July – 9 Course Stellar Degustation – 6.30pm start

Celebrate Matariki in the company of friends, colleagues or family over delicious kai presented as a 9 course degustation menu prepared the Retreat chefs.

Matariki has nine visible stars, according to leading Māori astronomer, Dr Rangi Matamua, who has been researching Matariki for over 30 years.  The nine visible stars include: Matariki, Tupuārangi, Waipuna-ā-Rangi, Waitī, Tupuānuku, Ururangi, Waitā, Pōhutukawaand Hiwa-i-te-Rangi.Each star holds a certain significance over our wellbeing and environment, as seen from the Māori view.

Each course on the menu relates to a star within the Matariki Constellation and our team of chefs get creative to bring you both their inventive ideas and their skills for each stellar course.  In the spirit of celebration you will be seated at a long table to share amazing kai and companionship.

PRICE

$ 185 which includes a 9 course chefs choice degustation dinner.

A cash / Eft Pos bar is available for beverages, freshly brewed gourmet Dilmah teas or barista coffee are available to purchase.

PAYMENT

A valid credit card payment is required to secure all bookings.

CANCELLATION

Tickets are non-refundable but may be transferred.

If Moraine Lodge needs to cancel the event for reasons outside of its control, a full refund will be given.

Absolutely Fabulous
This retreat is luxury at its finest. The villa was absolutely breath taking, glorious, luxurious, well appointed, comfortable, amazing. The table was set for a three course dinner, which was bought to us in stages over the evening, and it was delicious and luscious. The wine was divine. A welcome cake greeted us, as did a lovely fruit bowl, welcome tots of gin and whiskey, provisions in the fridge for snacking. The bed was very comfortable, the bedding luxurious. The bathroom with full length window overlooking Mount Cook was perfect. Each villa has their own spa overlooking the grounds (Peking ducks, goats, deer roaming around) and the gorgeous Mount Cook and surrounds. Perfect for a midnight dip. Staff were welcoming and lovely. Our stay is one we will remember forever and we wish we were able to stay longer.
